Talk 1:  Catherine Burrows - Building Effective Recommendation Engines

Catherine will walk you through how their team at Gousto added millions in revenue by sorting lists (and a few other things). This talk will explore the journey of building a recommendation system, which provides their customers with a personalised choice of meals every week. Furthermore,  she will discuss the challenges of taking an idea all the way through to fully productionised, value-adding product.

Talk 2: Guillaume Bouchard - Using AI to tackle Fake News and Misinformation

After a brief intro about his journey as a AI startup entrepreneur (he co-founded Bloomsbury AI in 2016 with Sebastian Riedel), Guillaume will briefly introduce a few AI challenges at Facebook, and will focus on the main objective of the newly created “Integrity” team that focuses on developing innovative systems to increase Facebook safety and reduce negative user experiences such as reducing misinformation through AI powered fact checking.
